Have you ever wondered just how many traffic tickets are handed out each year?

We have.  And we have some stats for North Carolina, which are based on real data collected over a period of 18 days in July 2013.  Over an 18 day period, 30,206 traffic tickets were handed out by cops in the good ‘ol State of North Carolina.  Thats a little more than 1 ticket per minute, every single minute of the day, 24/7.

Want to know how many of these tickets were handed out in your county?

We have that info too.  In Wake County, for example, 2,631 traffic tickets were handed out over that 18 day period.  That’s almost 150 per day.  Mecklenburg County: 2,389.
